The American version of the World Series of Poker takes place over the summer in Las Vegas. There are 50 plus events that take place over the course of weeks, culminating in the circus of activity that is the Main Event.

Harrah's owns the rights to the World Series of Poker, and now they own several casino properties in Europe. So, it's only natural that they bring the WSOP to a new audience.

This year, the games will take place London between September 19th and October 2nd. This year's tournament will be hosted by London Clubs International (LCI) and held at the ultra-prestigious Casino at the Empire.

The casino environments in Europe differ from those found in America. to this end, the WSOP Commissioner, Jeffrey Pollack, has commented that the WSOPE would have a "style and flair that is both unique and appropriate to the setting. So don't be surprised if we require participants to wear blazers at the tables."

Unlike the American version of the WSOP, the WSOPE will have only a handful of tournaments.
