I was reading that in the first World Series of Poker, the winner
was decided by vote, but everyone voted for himself. So Binion had
to have everyone vote for the 2nd best player in the tournament to
determine who the winner was. I don't know if that's an apocryphal
story, but it's a great story, and I thought it was a great way to
start this list of WSOP champions.
