This WPT event was one never witnessed before, courtesy the varied people participating in it. Five of the six finalists had never been the winners of any WPT event; the sixth one being the winner of two WPT.
All came from various fields from the world, but they all had one thing in common – the passion to win! Lasting for four days from the 27th to the 30th of March, 2006, the prize pool of the event totaled $2,845,700. As many as 592 people entered the event. The ultimate result of the entire event can be summarized below.
Mike Simon got himself the first seat that earned him $1,052,890.
Jason Stern was richer by $529,300 due to his hard play which got him the second seat.
Tom Schneider occupied the third seat with a payout of $256,115.
Greg Mueller was the man on the fourth seat, getting paid $142,285. At the fifth and the sixth seat were Jonas Norrman and Barry Greenstein who got a sum who $113,830 and $85,370 respectively.
Greenstein donated his winnings of $85,370 to a charity, as he always does. Eventually, Simon got better than the others and emerged victorious, bagging the prize money of $1,052,890.
