WPT Event - Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship

Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship

The Bellagio Casino was the location of the Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship in 2006. This tournament was played between the 18th and the 21st of October, 2005. 423 people turned up for the event after having qualified through a satellite or posting up the five figure tournament entry fee on their own.

A whopping $4,080,895 prize pool was up for grabs. Having lasted for four days, it was a truly remarkable experience for any poker player to participate in. Played in excellent spirit, the final result could be summarized as follows: Minh Le won the event, and took home a payout of $1,060,050.

Dan Harrington ended up in second, getting $620,730.

Gavin Smith put in a fine showing and placed third, garnering $327,610. Don Zewin took fourth.

Jan Sorensen and Tony Grand managed to get the fifth and sixth seat, with a payout of $137,940 and $96,560 respectively.

Minh and Dan were the final players left to compete, and after some heart-stopping action from the two, Ming came out triumphant, with Dan congratulating his competitor for his first tournament win which got him such a big sum!
