If you happen to play any event at the WPT, you must surely have dreamt of being a winner of the title of the World Poker Tour.
Victor Ramdin was a man who had played many events, but could never fulfill the dream of his.
In fact, he considered himself something less than a pro. He surely was the most experienced of the six finalists of this spectacular event that started on 6th April and ended on the 9th of April, 2006, lasting for 4 days. 431 people entered, paying an entry fee of $10,000 each. $4,175,200 was the total prize pool for the finalists. The detailed results of all the six finalists are mentioned below.
As expected, the experienced Victor Ramdin emerged victorious in first place, bagging $1,357,389.
The second place was occupied by Alex Jacob, who bagged $655,507 as the payout.
Ed Jordan took third, he laid his hands on $417,520, while Larry Klur in fourth got a net payout of $292,264.
At the fifth and sixth seats were John F. Russell and Bruce Kater who got themselves a booty of $208,760 and $167,008 respectively.
Ramdin is a tough competitor, and always unpredictable. Kater was the first to fall prey to Ramdin’s tricks and face elimination.
John Russell assumed the aggressiveness of playing poker, and paid the price for his improper timing to turn aggressive. He finished fifth.
Alex Jacob wasn’t the man to be outdone by Ramdin, which was appreciated by everyone. He plotted against Jordan who ultimately finished at the third position. This was when Ramdin’s aggressiveness made him predictable and he started to lose significance. But he managed to keep his calm and bounced back. Though he won the event ultimately, Jacob’s showing was a major highlight!
