The bounty of shooting the star is the main attraction of
Bay 101 Shooting Star tournament that was held in California from the 27th of February to the 3rd of March, 2006. The tournament lasted 5 days. Even though entrants had to each pony up $10,000 as the entry fee, 518 people turned up to play in the event.
The total prize pool was a cool $4,702,800. Any given player who knocks out a shooting star was rewarded with $5,000 instantly, together with a T-shirt as a token of appreciation.
Many players participated in this fun-filled event. Six of them were declared the finalists and they then competed with each other. The detailed results of these finalists are given below.
Nam Le finished first, having received a total payout of $1,172,800.
Indian Ravi Udayakumar managed to grab the second place and received a net payout of $629,500.
Danny Smith got hold of the third seat, which fetched him $340,000, while David Williams booked for himself the fourth seat for a cool $280,000.
Fabrice Soulier laid his hands on the fifth place and received $240,000 for his efforts, and last but not the least, Chad Brown succeeded in getting the sixth seat which fetched him a handsome $200,000.
