674 entrants paid the $10,000 entry fee, which made a staggering
$6,765,000 prize pool, making it the largest event in the history of the WPT.
Here’s how the final six looked at the start of play:
In Seat 1: Bradley Berman with $1,1705,000
In Seat 2: Temperance “Temp” Hutter, with $974,000
In Seat 3: Dangerous David “the Dragon” with $323,000
In Seat 4: Humberto Brenes, with $1,159,000
In Seat 5: J.C. Tran, with $1,205,000
In Seat 6: Tuan Le, with $1,376,000
Pham found Ah 9c, and re-raised Tuan Le’s $24,000 raise, making it $90,000 to go. Le pushed all-in, and Pham, called. Le flipped over As 4s, a flop of Tc-7c-4d gave Le bottom pair, a turn and river of 7h, 6c sent Pham to the rail in 6th place with $277,014.
J.C. Tran, found 3h 3d, and tried to limp to see a flop, but Le raised him $120,000. Tran pushed all-in. Le called and turned over 6s 6h. The board ran Kd Qh 9h, 2d, 8h, Tran was sent home in 5th place, with $353,000.
Bradley Berman, with Kc Kd, made a $170,000 raise. Le, re-raised to $400,000 more. Bradley Berman pushed all, and Le called and flipped over Ad Kh. The flop came Tc Td 2s, 8s on the turn, Le caught the Ac on the river to knock Berman out in 4th place, with $470,452 to ease the pain.
Hutter, with Ac 7c, raised to $150,000. Humberto, moved all-in. Hutter called. Humberto flipped up 5h-5c, the flop came 9d-6c-2c, 2d on the turn. But the Jc on the river gave Hutter the nut flush, and Humberto, was out in 3rd place, with $636,930.
Hutter raised $460,000, with Ad-5c. Le, with 7c-6d called, the flop was 9h 8d 3d, Le quickly pushed all-in, and Hutter, made a great call, trusting that his Ace was good. But yet again, Le got bailed out with a Ts on the river, Hutter, went out in 2nd, with $973,256. Tuan Le took the title, the $1,549,588, and the guaranteed $25,000 seat at the WPT Championship.
