Season One WPT Events

The television show brought in the now-standard "hole cams" to show what each of the players was holding, so viewers could easily insert themselves into a player's chair and feel the emotion of playing a hand.

The buy-ins were large, generally $10,000, and the production for the final table included elaborate lighting and camera work. Add announcers Mike Sexton and Dick VanPatten, and the lovely Shana Hiatt, and you have a hit!

• Five Diamond World Poker Classic taking place between 06/01/02 - 06/01/02 at The Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada.

• Legends of Poker being held between 08/30/02 - 08/31/02 at the The Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, California.

• Aruba Poker Classic takes place 10/09/02 - 10/11/02. The event is sponsored by Ultimate Bet.

• Costa Rica Classic is scheduled for 10/18/02 - 10/19/02.

• The Gold Rush tournament will be held at the Lucky Chances Casino between 11/10/02 - 11/11/02.

• World Poker Finals - is a stop on the tour that takes place at the Foxwoods Casino Resort in CT. The tournament will take place between 11/14/02 and 11/17/02.

• World Poker Open is held at the Gold Strike Casino, and takes place between 01/28/03 and 01/31/03.

• Euro Finals of Poker is held at the presitgious Aviation Club de France, and is scheduled to take place between 02/12/03 and 02/15/03.

• L.A. Poker Classic is scheduled for 02/21/03 - 02/24/03 and is held at the Commerce Casino.

• WPT Invitational is also held at the Commerce, and is planned for 02/25/03 - 02/26/03.

• The inaugural PartyPoker Million is scheduled for 03/01/03 - 03/06/03.

• World Poker Challenge takes place at the Reno Hilton. The events are scheduled to take place between 03/31/03 and 04/02/03.

• WPT World Championship is the final stop on the tour, and takes everyone back to the Bellagio in Las Vegas. The games take place between 04/14/03 and 04/18/03.
