Where to Play - Heads Up Poker

Where to Play Heads Up Poker Online

Some people love to play poker 1 on 1. It's certainly a different kind of poker altogether, very intense and fast. I've accidentally wound up heads up in a ring game or two with someone and had them tell me that they would prefer to wait until we had more players to continue.

Apparently heads-up poker is TOO intense for some people.

Online Cardrooms Offering Heads-up Poker

Theoretically you found this page because you're specifically interested in playing heads-up poker. In other words, you're not looking for a place were you might find a single player sitting by himself at a ring game just waiting. So I've done some research and come up with a list of poker sites who offer heads up poker games as part of their menu.

Interestingly enough, Party Poker does NOT offer 1 on 1 games. So if that's what you're looking for, Party's not the place.

The best two poker rooms online I know of for heads-up play are Poker Stars and Ultimate Bet. The players at Pokerstars tend to be tougher than the players at Ultimate Bet, but Ultimate generally offers a pretty significant signup bonus which might outweigh  the skill of the players when you decide where to play.

You should also consider signing up with PokerShare, because they're on the same network as UltimateBet.com, and they have the same games available. You'll receive significant ongoing player bonuses at PokerShare too.

Some other options to consider if you like heads up play are any of the Prima Poker rooms, and Paradise Poker, which is an amazing cardroom considering the variety of games they make available. Neither of these sites offer as much 1 on 1 poker action as Pokerstars or UB, but they're definitely worth mentioning.
