The poker room at the Paris has $3/6 Texas hold'em with a rake of 10 percent with a $4 maximum. It also has no limit holdem with minimum $100 and $200 maximum buy-in's. There is no stud, Omaha or tournaments.

Although there are just eight tables in the poker room, the wait time during weekends is less than 10 minutes. The area is a no smoking zone. The poker room is in the middle of the casino floor next to the bar. There are plans to set up a separate poker room with some plasma television screens. The felt on the tables feels good but there are no auto shufflers or drink holders.

Players are young and inexperienced, and many of them are first-timers. The dealers are competent and friendly. The cocktail waitresses are attractive and keep the drinks coming in at a fast pace. Their efficiency can be attributed partly to the proximity of the bar to the poker room.
