The Gold Coast poker room has 2/4 Texas Holdem with 1/2 kill and
$3/10 percent maximum rake. There is also 4/8 Texas Holdem with 1/2
kill and $3/5 percent maximum rake. There is also No Limit Holdem
with $100 minimum and $100 maximum buy-in. Stud is also available
with $3 maximum rake. There is no Omaha and there are no
tournaments.
There are just eight tables but the waiting time on weekends is
hardly five minutes. There is no poker room rate and the area is a
smoke-free zone. But if you should need a smoke you just need to
take the few steps to the casino floor. The Gold Coast poker room is
just an extension of the casino floor. This in itself does not go
against the poker room but the tables have a very cheap look and
feel to it. There is nothing elegant or sophisticated about the
room. Also, the televisions are not easily viewed from the tables
and this is one disadvantage. Competition is nothing great and
neither are the dealers. The dealers seem to be either very
experienced or beginners. But automatic shufflers are also
functioning in this poker room. The waitresses though are very
efficient and the drinks keep coming. The management is also very
courteous and obliging.
