Ultimate Bet Poker Review

Ultimate Bet is the home of Elimination Blackjack, Phil Hellmuth, and competitive Roshambo. And yes, they play poker there too.

The room accepts US players, deals a variety of games, and offers a welcome bonus of up to $650.

They are the main room on a network that includes several skins.

In A Nutshell:

Ultimate Bet is one of the older poker rooms online. They have a host of poker rom pros that includes the character that is Phil Hellmuth. They offer a strong welcome bonus, and have software that is supported by third party programs like Poker Tracker and the PokerAce HUD.

They have active tables that are dealing games besides Texas Holdem, and a player rewards system that includes both regular bonusing and a comp points program.

Bonuses and Promotions

Ultimate Bet is a room that offers bonuses on a regular basis. Between the welcome bonus, and the reloads, regular players can expect a steady stream of cash from the poker room.

There is a comp point system in place at uBet as well. In fact, uBet has launched the Ultimate Points Store website to hightlight all of the available merchandise and opportunities.

There is definitely a lot of tournament action at Ultimate Bet. They run all the usual stuff, from freerolls and Sit and Go's to scheduled multi-table events.

Every week there is a guaranteed $200,000 Sunday event. During the week there are guaranteed money events, and every day you'll find qualifying events for one of the several "feature tournaments" that the room will be promoting

Ultimate Bet is involved in sending players to land-based events, you will find a steady stream of satellites to everything from the Aruba Classic to the WSOP events in Vegas.

uBet has been around long enough to have their own series of high buy-in online poker tournaments. They regularly host the "Ultimate Bet Online Championships" which are a series of poker tournaments with guaranteed prize pools of up to $1,000,000. the games involved range from NLHE to to Pot Limit Omaha to HORSE.

The software at Ultimate Bet is something I might describe as "utilitarian". It lacks luster, but it's solid.

There are no player icons or avatars, just empty chairs. You can change backgrounds, and perform a couple of visual tweaks to the tables.

There is a "mini-view" designed to help out players who are multi-tabling, but it is a different way to view that table, not simply a smaller version of the table. It might take a bit of getting used to.

The betting options do include a "bet pot" button, and you can use the numberpad to enter bet amounts, so I think of it as a friendly way to put chips into the pot.

The software is also compatible with PokerTracker and the HUD, so serious players can use their tools at the room.

Player Numbers and Skill

Ultimate Bet is not one of the busiest rooms on the net, but there are plenty of players there. They do share tables with several other online rooms, but undoubtedly uBet is the largest room on their small "network".

You really shouldn't have any troubles finding a table at whatever limits fit your fancy. Being marketed as a "poker player's poker room", you should find some skilled players at the tables. But, having attractions like Roshambo and Elimination Blackjack, don't be surprised to find a less studious player at your table either.

After all, poker is a recreational activity too.

Overall Grade - C

With full tables and solid software, Ultimate Bet qualifies as a poker room that I can recommend. They are large enough to offer some quality tournament activity, and the increased game selection means more chances to just sit in on a low stakes game and have some fun.

While I do not dislike the software, the whole NioNio cheating scandal gives me pause in saying that I can recommend the poker room. Like other cheating cases, the theives focused on the high stakes tables. Still, it certainly brings their grade down.
