Titan Poker is part of the iPoker network of rooms. They do not accept players from the U.S.
This afternoon there are over 4,000 players on the network, so that qualifies Titan as a smaller poker room.
The software at Titan is fine. It has some interesting features. There is bubble chat if you like it. For me bubble chat makes it easier to keep track of where the conversation is coming from. There is a session stats feature you can make use of, and an interesting graphic presentation of their hand histories.
The most interesting thing that Titan Poker does, that you can't find at sites like Party and Absolute, has to be the series of Jackpot Sit and Go's that they run. This afternoon the jackpot for the Rio is up to $35,000.
The limit for the games in the room run from $.02/$.04 up to $50/100. There was an active $30/60 table going while I was wondering through the lobby. The no limit games top out at blinds of $10/20, and there was action at those tables as well. So, if you're looking for a serious game of high stakes poker, you can find some action here.
I sat in at some of the lower limit games, and the poker there seemed to be more for entertainment than it was serious play. There was light table banter, and people were having a good time. It was kind of a refreshing experience.
Titan runs some serious promotions, like their $100,000,000 freeroll. The way the tournament was set up, there was a prize pool of $500,000 (which puts them above some established rooms like Aboslute in the "feature freeroll" category).
There was a possible "jackpot" of $100,000,000 should someone land a royal flush of spades at the final table. There were also jackpots for other hands, like any royal, or quads of tens or better. So, the odds of someone taking home one of the possible final table jackpots were actually realistic.
Titan has a generous welcome bonus. If you type in the site from your browser, you can get a 50% bonus up to $200. If you visit through Unknown Poker, via one of the links on this page, like this one, the bonus is 100% up to $500!
The way they award the bonus is not a standard raked hand requirement. Instead of getting credit for each hand raked at say, $.50 or $1, there is a tier system set up at Titan. The more the rake, the more credit a player receives. And the credit really jumps when the rake is over $1.50, so they really strive to make sure their $3/6 and above players are shown some appreciation.
Of course that doesn't mean grinding out a bonus at the $1/2 is not allowed. With a huge welcome bonus of $500 available, feel free to grind away.
There are quite a few private games, especailly tournaments going on at Titan. And with the jackpot SnG's and the generous deposit bonuses you can find, Titan has a little something for a lot of different people.
Titan Poker's Overall Grade: B+
