Stanley VIP combines poker and casino games in one site. The poker arm is powered by prima, and is backed by Stanley Casinos, a large casino operator in the UK. So, while US visitors may not recognize the name as they would say Harrah's or Bally's, European players understand the reputation behind this poker room.

One simple way to see that the poker room takes the high ground on gaming issues is their policy against accepting players from the United States. With their unclear laws on internet gambling, Stanley VIP Poker has decided against any possible difficulties that would arise from accepting US players. Considering the amount of players from the US, and the potential loss in revenues that turning them away brings, that shows the integrity of the operation.

The poker room takes advantage of all of prima's tournaments and promotions, and adds some of their own as well. There is a $101 welcome bonus for new players. I do think it's odd that a UK site that doesn't accept US players advertises their welcome bonus in US dollars.

The bonus is released in three $33 sections, after each 500 raked hands of play. Ok, make that $33, $33 and $35, but you get the idea. The raked hands must be at a $1/2 limit or better.

I don't like the fact that the poker room's website has a "links" page as part of it's navigation, but it's empty. Finding empty pages on a big commercial website makes me uneasy.

At any rate, this is definitely not a room for US players. Other folks might can probably find a more active poker room to play on the prima network. Stanley VIP Poker certainly is not one of the worst looking prima rooms out there, but neither is it one of the most attractive.
