Atlas Poker is taking an interesting approach to gathering players towards its room. They have a company motto . . . "Be Sponsored".

So, they have a series of poker events that players can particpate in, and by doing well players can eventually earn their way into a room sponsorship. What's a sponsorship worth?

"ATLAS POKER guarantees the sponsoring of its best online players for 34 international tournaments representing a total prize package of 280000$"

Notice the dollar sign after the amount. Makes me think they're a European-focused room, which is fine. Just makes me chuckle a bit.

The website has options to view it in both English, and French, and they both work correctly. That's at least a sign of a poker room that didn't get their prima site right from the shelf and then abandon it.

The room's bonus is both enticing, and demanding. Players receive a 100% matching bonus of up to, get this . . . $5,000. You have to play it all off within 90 days. The bonus is "played off" at the rate of 20% of your rake, so the more they take, the more they give back.

At 20% of your rake, to get the whole $5,000, you'd have to contribute oh, $25,000 in rake. Hmmm, that's a tall order. Of course you can choose a deposit that's much more reasonable, and bonuses are certainly not the only reason to choose a poker room.
