This is a poker room that has one thing conspiciously absent from their home page. There is no link to the Promotions and Bonuses page that you'd find on 99% of poker room websites.
How can a room attract new players without offering a bonus? Well, All-in Poker has an idea. They set up every player at the room as an "poker business person". They completely explain the idea in their on-site movie.
What the room has decided to do is to kick back a significant portion of their earnings (51%) to their players who help recruit other players to the room. Somewhere in there is a bunch of tiers for players who refer players, who in turn refer more players. At the end, it kind of looks like a pyramid.
And that kind of scheme didn't catch on with enough players, here's a quote i recently caught from a message board announcing the close of the room . . .
"It is with regret that we inform you that All In™ Poker is to close down with immediate effect. Unfortunately our multi-level marketing model has not been taken up by enough members to make the business sustainable. Thank you for your custom.
The website and poker client will remain available to you until Friday 22 September 2006 to enable you to withdraw any funds in your accounts. Please note that after this date, any funds remaining in your account will not be accessible.
Deposits are suspended with immediate effect."
So, All-in all, this room is a closed deal.
