The PokerStars World Cup of Poker IV will begin online and run from July 12th – August 5th. The live finals are scheduled to be played in Barcelona, Spain, from September 4th – 7th.
The event is free to enter so if you're interested in playing, be sure to register early. The qualifying events will fill up early.
The World Cup of Poker pits players from different countries (who play together as a team) against each other. Each team has four players during qualifying rounds. Two of the players are winners of the qualifying freeroll tournaments. The top two Tournament Leader Board (from January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2006) players in each of the countries represented will also automatically qualify as World Cup team players.
The fifth player on each team will be selected by PokerStars.
