PokerStars is known for their World Championship of Online Poker (the WCOOP). So, what is this SCOOP?
It's the Spring Championship of Online Poker. And it's not just another WCOOP that happens to come in the Spring instead of the Fall. Instead, there's a twist that the poker room has put on the tournament series to make it more inviting for players of all stakes.
The High Roller action is certainly present in the tournament series with several events having buy-ins of $5,000 or more. But, for each event there are three tournaments running at the same time. I low stakes buy-in, a middle stakes buy-in, and a high stakes buy-in.
For example, Event #8 is a two-day No Limit Hold'em event. There is one tournament running with a direct buy-in of $33, one with a buy-in of $320, and a third with a buy-in of $3,150.
There are guaranteed prize pools for all of the tournaments in all of the events. And yes, there are a whole host of ways to qualify via satellite, so check PokerStars.com for more information.
