Free Poker Tournament for James Bond's Car
Poker Stars is really stepping things up lately, or I've been taking more notice. It doesn't really matter which one, as long as I'm aware that they are running some fantastic freeroll events at the room.
The MoneyMaker Millionaire is a great idea for a tournament that involves everyone, but this new event, the Aston Martin Freeroll really pulls out a lot of stops. Here's the background on the tourney and the sweet ride that's being offered as the top prize . . .
The Final Event Date for tournament is Saturday the 9th of December at 3:00pm Eastern.
Satellites are running non-stop up until then, and they can be entered using poker stars comp points (or "frequent player points"). Obviously you get the comp points from entering tournaments or spending time at the cash tables.
The cheapest satellites only cost 25 fpp's to enter, so you don't have to be a hardcore supporter of the room to enter, just a passing player.
Aston Martin DBS - James Bond's Ride
The top prize is an extraordinary vehicle. In celebration of the new James Bond movie, Casino Royale, and because of Poker Star's relationship with Aston Martin Racing, they've secured the first car off the production line. Wow.
The model is the Ason Martin DBS, which is going to be a short run car that will not be available until the end of 2007. It's planned to be a mix between the DB9 road car and the DBR9 racing machine. The value of this horsepowered work of art, over $200,000.
There is more than one prize in the prize pool, with the top 199 finishers receiving a share of $100,000. So, second place (and third, etc.) do get consolation prizes.
Even though the total prize package is only $300,000 for this big-league freeroll, I have to say that the romance factor is way off the charts!
