High Stakes Poker Tournaments
This year Pokerroom.com is running their Grand Seires of Poker at the end of April. The series consists of a high stakes tournament each day, culminating in the 2 day Main Event with a prize of $1,000,000.
The first event is April 24th - it is a No Limit Holdem tournament. The tables in the tourney are Short-handed tables, and the guaranteed prize pool is $300,000. People can buy in directly for $500, or win a seat through a qualifier at the poker room.
The starting stacks for these tournaments (except the Main Event) are $5,000, so there is plenty of poker placed in front of everyone at the beginning of the tournament.
April 25th is the Omaha PL tournament. Once again, the direct buy-in is $500. The prize pool for this tourney is $150,000.
April 26th is the 5 Card Draw PL tournament. $500 buy-in, $150,000 prize pool,, satellites available.
April 27th is the Limit Holdem event. $500 buy-in, $150,000 prize pool.
April 28th is the Omaha Hi/Lo Limit event.
The Main Event takes place over 2 days, the 29th and 30th of April. Buy-in for this tourney is $1,000. The prize pool, a cool million, guaranteed.
Starting chip stacks in this event are $10,000.
On the First of May the Table of Champions takes place. This is a $50,000 Freeroll for the top ten overall players from the previous events. For each Grand Series event, players will score points counting towards a Table of Champions ranking. The top ten players on the ranking after the conclusion of the Grand Tournament VII will qualify for the $50,000 Table of Champions.
