Taylor Caby

Taylor Caby

   - by Tiffany Cobane

Taylor Caby may not be a big name in live poker, but he's as recognizable as any faceless player can get in the anonymous world of online poker. Caby is a shining example of how the new blood is revolutionizing the face of modern poker.

Over the years, he has made scattered appearances at major live tournaments like the WSOP and WPT events. Though his live success has been limited, Caby seems perfectly happy to continue raking in large pots online. Known as “Green Plastic” on UltimateBet or alternately as “Tay” on Full Tilt, Caby has been making himself known at all the best online high stakes No Limit Hold 'em tables.

Caby first learned how to play poker at the tender age of 13. His then unsuspecting family started dealing him into their regular games. That simple rite of passage would later become the foundation for a very lucrative profession.

Caby attended the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. While there, he and some of his friends started playing online poker. Though Caby had significant early success at the low buy-in Sit 'n' Gos, he stayed on at the school and graduated with a degree in Finance. His major would later prove useful in the management of his growing bankroll as well as the management of his future business.

Caby has claimed three cashes at major live poker tournaments, but those small wins pale in comparison to his online success.

By all accounts, Caby is a Hold 'em pro to be feared by players of every level. He credits his success to a flexible tight-aggressive strategy and his ability to ward off tilt. Not satisfied with the tens of thousands of dollars he regularly rakes in at the $50/$100 tables, Caby used his background in finance and his knowledge of poker to expand his profits in a different poker-related venue.

In 2008 he co-founded the poker support community CardRunners.com. In addition to playing high stakes Hold 'em games, Caby spends his free time running the site and crafting valuable advice for other online poker hopefuls.
