This is the fellow who was knocked out of the WSOP in 2003 in the first hour, but he's a brilliant, funny guy, and a damned good poker player too.
Perry Friedman is a writer, humorist, cyclist, computer scientist, sports fan, poker player and probably most importantly a publicist. He lives boldly and makes sure that anyone who cares to know about it can. Luckily, his escapades are usually interesting and written about with an entertaining slant… I mean Tilt.

As a semi professional poker player, his claim to fame is that he won the $1,500 World Series of Poker Omaha Hi/Lo event in 2002. He has just the one WSOP bracelet. He has quite a few other money finishes under his belt as well, including a final table appearance in June of ’05 at a WSOP no Limit Hold’em event. He lists Seven card stud as his favorite Poker game and says it’s his ambition to dominate tournament poker. He is a supporter of the mainstreaming of poker. He sees opportunity in the increased publicity, media coverage and sponsorships.
Friedman resides in Las Vegas, NV with his wife Kimberly, two cats and horses. He was born on May 15, 1968 in Brooklyn, NY. He was raised on Long Island and graduated from Sachem High School in 1986. From there, he went on to Stanford University and earned celebrity status on campus. He worked for the humor magazine, the Stanford Chapparral, and carried out several pranks that were fun and funny.
His escapades even caught the attention of the national media when he managed to get Bart Simpson elected to the Graduate Senate. The interesting tidbit is not that this cartoon character had been elected, but that there was actually a protest over the fact that votes for Bart had been thrown out! Some of Friedman’s jokes led to thought provoking issues on campus.
Following Stanford, Friedman had stints at IBM, Oracle, Harman Interactive, Internet Sports Network, and Digital Envoy. Friedman is a lot more about the poker world than poker itself. His writings reveal an interest in any of the many ways a person can combine the tech world with pop culture to pad his bank account.
Nowadays, you’ll find Perry Friedman working at all things Tilt. He is one of the famed Tiltboys who have written a book about their escapades. This group of Stanford grads goes about entering tournaments, sporting events, investing in the stock market, working at their jobs, and always looking for a funny anecdote. They have compiled these into a book called Tales from the Tiltboys, written by the Tiltboys and edited by Kim Scheinberg with a forward by Phil Gordon.
He currently works for a company called Tiltware which makes the software for online poker. The software is used by Full Tilt Poker. No surprise, you’ll find Friedman and the rest of the Tiltboys online playing at Full Tilt. Friedman is listed as a friend of Full Tilt Poker.
