Paradise Poker hosts their Third Million Dollar Freeroll
Paradise Poker is on to something. They took a chance and hosted an enormous freeroll event, and it must have worked well. After having put up $1,000,000 in prizes and requiring no entry fee for the tournament, they are repeating the process.
This will be their Third Million Dollar Freeroll and it is set to take place Saturday, July 22nd, 2006.
Every new player gets one free chance to advance in this mega-tournament. You can sign up for your chance by visiting Paradise Poker, downloading their poker room software and opening an account.
Every day, from January 16th through to July 21st, Paradise Poker will be running heat events. There are three a day, and the players who place in these heat events are awarded a seat in the final tournament. The heat schedule is:
- 4pm ET = Top 6 players advance to $1,000,000 main event
- 9pm ET = Top 9 players advance to $1,000,000 main event
- 1am ET = Top 15 players advance to $1,000,000 main event
Each of the heats will be a max 5,000 player tournament, and different heats draw different competition. Some players have devised a strategy for finding the softer games, and competing in that specific heat tournament on purpose to gain an edge.
If you fail to advance in your first attempt, there is a second, third, fourth, fifth, etc. chance available. Players may enter the freeroll by using "Million Points" which are acquired through real money play. So, if at first you don't succeed, if you are a regular player at the real money tables in the room, you can try, try again.
It is a freeroll though, so there is no option to buy in to the tournament directly.
The players that make the final table of the final event will all be treated to something special, even if they don't all take home $1,000,000 in cool cash. They will be taken on an all-expenses paid luxury vacation to an exotic Paradise location to finish the remaining portion of the tournament face-to-face.
The live final table is scheduled to take place on August 19th.
The Payout Schedule for the Million Dollar Freeroll III is:
- 1st = $1,000,000 (plus a free vacation for two to mystery tropical location)
- 2nd–10th = $10,000 (plus a free vacation for two to a mystery tropical location)
- 11th = $1,000 12th–50th = $500
- 51st–100th = $100
- 101st–500th = $50
TOTAL: $1,150,000
