Jungle Poker Review

Jungle Poker is Closed

Another small poker room has closed its doors. In 2006 Jungle poker opened their doors to players. Since that time, the poker room has closed shop. Even the original website is gone.

For historical purposes, below is the original review of Jungle Poker.

New poker rooms seem to be popping up rather frequently these days. And, I'm not just talking about "skins" where a new room takes advantage of pre-tested software, and joins an established network of rooms with lots of player traffic. There are new rooms trying to start from scratch (like Full Tilt did), with their own software and thier own player network. Jungle Poker is one of those rooms.

As I write thie review, the poker room is in "pre-lauch" mode. There are no real money tables open. All of the action is part of their $75,000 in freerolls that they are hosting in preparation for their Grand Opening.

The software has some interesting features built into it. You can choose the window size, with setting available at 100%, 75%, or 50%. You cannot resize it manually.

While sitting at the tables, each player is represented by a 3d character in their chair. When opening an account, players are asked if they want a male or female character, so the choice is up to you. You can also choose to remove the avatars, and play with empty chairs for everyone instead.

There is a chat box in the lower right corner of the table window. Players are also given the option of opening a larger chat window that sits alongside the right edge of the table screen like the prima poker software offers. This obviously lets you keep track of more player/dealer chat.

There is an option to open a small, thin "statistics window" underneath the main table window also. There players can keep track of things like percentage of flops seen, etc.

The room is also running a 2006 WSOP Giveaway. There are three ways to enter:

  • Any player who places “in the money” in any of the Win Your Bankroll tournaments, will immediately qualify
  • The top 100 Players who play the most hands on our Play Money Tables during this “Win Your Bankroll” period will be awarded a ticket
  • The top 100 Players who increase their Play Money Bankrolls the most during this “Win Your Bankroll” period will be awarded a ticket

When real money play begins, expect the room to offer a 100% matching deposit bonus of up to $500 to players making their first deposit at the room.

Use Bonus Code: Prophet

to claim your bonus. Bonuses will be awarded in $20 increments, for 200 raked hands played. The rake must be $.50 to quailfy as a raked hand for bonus purposes according to their website.
