FTOPS V - August 9th - 20th
Between August 9th and 20th, 2007, Full Tilt Poker ran a series of guaranteed money poker tournaments they call the "Full Tilt Online Poker Series", or FTOPS for short.
Each of the events was hosted by one of the room pros, and ranged from H.O.R.S.E tournaments to 6-max NL Hold'em to Limit Omaha Hi/Lo.
Below are recaps of winners and prize money involved in each of the tournaments.
August 20th, 2007
Event #13 - The Main Event took place yesterday, Sunday the 19th of August.
This $535 buy-in event had a guaranteed prize pool of $2,000,000 and was hosted by Paul Wasicka. In the end, 4,578 players participated, boosting the prize pool up to $2,289,000.
That privided enough prize money for the top 4 finishers to each take home over $100,000, and the top 648 finishers to take home some sort of prize money.

Many of the room pros participated. Paul Sexton had the best finish coming in 25th, and earning over $8,400 for his efforts. Mike Matusow came in 4,140th.
Event #12 was a significant event in the FTOPS V series. The buy-in was $2,620 (including fee), and the tournament lasted two days.
This No Limit Hold'em event was hosted by Phil Ivey, who finished in 95th. With a field of 648 players, that finished didn't prove good enough to place him in the money. Only the top 63 finishers were awarded prize money.
Room pros Eddy Scharf, David Chiu, and Max Pescatori all finished in the money in the event. They did not finish in the top 5 though. Those players each took home over $100,000.

August 19th
Event #11 took place on Friday, the 17th. It was a Limit Hold'em 6-max tournament hosted by Greg Mueller.
The tournament drew 1,171 players, boosting the overall prize pool to $234,200.
The top 3 players each took home over $20,000.

Eddy Scharf finished in 10th, and was part of the 144 players who made the money.
Event #10 of the FTOPS V was held on the 16th. The tournament was a Stud Hi event that lasted six and a half hours.
Keith Sexton hosted the event, which featured 597 entrants. Full Tilt had guaranteed a prize pool of $100,000, but the final prize pool was $119,400.
The top 3 finishers each took home over $10,000, with the top 56 players being paid some sort of prize money.

August 17th
FTOPS Event #9 was held on Wednesday. The event was a rebuy tournament that drew 1,133 players. The poker room guaranteed a prize pool of $400,000. Rebuys (1,652) and Add-ons (569) for the $300+$22 event pushed the prize pool well beyond the $00k mark up to over $1,000,000.
Players who finished in the top 120 made the money, with the top 5 players making over $50k each. three prizes were roughly $100,000 or better.

The tournament lasted 8 hours, ending at nearly 5AM eastern.

August 15th
FTOPS Event #8 started Tuesday night at 9:00. Stuart Patterson was the guest host of the Limit Omaha Hi/Lo tournament.
The event had a guaranteed prize pool of $150,000, but like all of the event in FTOPS V so far, there were more than enough players (1,073) to push the prize pool higher than the guarantee.
The top 99 players were in the money,with the top 5 earning over $10,000 each.

Room pro Chris Ferguson did well, finishing in 20th place and firmly in the money. Room pro Toto Leonidas did not fair as well, exiting the tournament in 100th place (on the bubble).
Erica Schoenberg hosed the $1,000 buy-in No Limit Hold'em event (FTOPS Event #7). Despite the higher buy-in, well over 1,000 players competed (1,282 to be exact).
The number of players pushed the prize pool beyond the room-guaranteed $1,000,000 purse to a total of $1,282,000. The top 5 players took home better than $50,000 each.

The eight hour tournament paid a total of 144 places. That's a fact that makes room pro Clonie Gowen a happy lady, as she finished in 144th place.
JJ Liu was also a happy room pro as she finished 10th, netting a nice payday of $18,589.
August 13th
Yesterday evening Clonie Gowen one of the Sunday tournaments from the FTOPS series. It was a NL Hold'em event that had a direct buy-in of$322.
Full Tilt guaranteed a prize pool of $1,000,000. Since 4,372 players signed up for the game, the actual prize pool was $1,311,600.
The top 585 players received a share of the prize,with the top 8 winning more than $20,000 each.

August 11th -
The second FTOPS event of the day was a $100+9 No Limit Holdem Rebuy tournament.
The tournament, hosted by Roland DeWolfe, finshed at nearly 2AM Eastern. It featured 1,678 players who rebought 2,277 times and requested 807add-ons. That resulted in a prize pool of $476,000, well above the guaranteed pool of $300,000.
The event paid the top 153 places, with the top 8 players taking home over $10,000 each. The tournament winner, GBecks, took home $102,383 himself.
Several room pros took part in the event. Allan Cunningham placed best amoung those players coming in 74th.
FTOPS Event #4 was a Pot Limit Omaha Hi tournament hosted by Robert Maizrachi.
This Saturday afternoon event drew 622 players, and finished in 7 hours. The prize pool was $311,000. Anyone placing in the top 84 places were rewarded for their efforts.

August 10th - The first H.O.R.S.E. event of FTOPS V was last night. There was a $216 buy-in (including fee), and drew a field of 1,036 players.
Full Tilt was guaranteeing a prize pool of $150,00, but the field was large enough to push the actual prize pool up to slightly over $207,000. Fifty-six players made the money, with four of them cashing in for over $10,000:

Host David Singer competed in the event, placing 366rd. Poker Hall of Famer Berry Johnston had the highest finish amoung room pros, coming in 33rd.
August 9th - Last night was the first event in the FTOPS V series. The $216 NLHE tournament drew 4,165 entrants. That resulted in an $833,000 prize pool, easily surpassing the $500,000 guarantee.
The event was hosted by Phil Gordon (of the "little poker book" fame). It lasted 9 hours, finishing at 6:18AM eastern. Six players took home prizes of at least $25,000.

Several of the Full Tilt poker pros competed in the event. The first to be dismissed, in 4,060th place was Lee Watkinson. He is the same man who made the final table of the Main Event in the WSOP (2007).
Karina Jett finished in 93rd, the best showing of a Full Tilt pro, solidly in the money.
