10 High Holdem Poker

A new table game from Vegas Technology, found at several of the online casinos.

10 High Holdem Poker

Wandering the tournament halls of English Harbour casino this afternoon, I came across this variation of poker turned into a table game. They call it 10 High Holdem Poker. Like most table games, players play against the house.

Deals 10 High Holdem - $275 Welcome Bonus available

The game is played with a deck of 52 cards, no jokers involved. The best five card poker hand at the showdown wins.

GamePlay:
> The player and dealer are both dealt their hole cards
> A card is burned, and the flop is dealt
> A card is burned and the turn is dealt
> A card is burned and the river is dealt
> Hands are shown down, and bets are collected/paid

There are three types of bets that a player can make in this game. One is simple the bet you need to make in order to see any cards. If you look at the screenshot below, you can see the money for that bet placed inside of the "Bet" circle on the felt.

The second bet you can make is the "Bonus Bet", which activates the Bonus pay table displayed on the left hand side. In order to qualify for the bonuses, you must use both hole cards. Minimum hand that pays a bonus a Three of a Kind. This bet is made by placing the desired amount of chips in the gold "slot" between the "Bet" and "10+" circles on the felt. In the screenshot you can see a $2 chip sticking out of that slot.

The third bet you can make is the "10's" bet, which activates the 10+ pay table on the right.

Once the bets are made, the hand is dealt out completely. There are no decision points in the hand. Players place their bets, all of the cards are dealt, and then bets are tallied and paid. This makes 10 High Holdem less like a Video Poker game, and more like say, Roulette.

I've found the game being dealt in tournament format at English Harbour, and playing the game in that setting was fun. Players all start the tournament with the same bankroll, and play to see who can acquire the most chips by the end of the tournament. The tournament I played was a freeroll, so there was no entry fee.

The game is also dealt for fun, and real money cash play.
