Caribbean Sun Poker's Sick Promo - has definitely kicked it up a notch with their Sick WSOP seats Promo.

Sun Poker's WSOP Seat Giveaway

Absolutely INSANE. That's what I think about this promotion, in a nutshell.

Sun Poker™
Sun Poker's Super Player Rewards Promo

What they've done is taken a huge amount of cash - over a million dollars - and decided to divide it up between the 100 players that accumulate the most comp points in the room between December 1st and May 31st. This isn't a series of tournaments you have to win, it's a simple player reward program.

But, it's HUGE.

If you're one of the top grinders at the room for the length of the promotion, you'll get:

  • a seat in the World Series of Poker
  • a few thousand in cash (up to $5k, or as little as $2k)
  • a trip to the WSOP aboard a private jet
  • accomodations (for three weeks) at the Sun Poker Mansion
The top prize package is worth $50,000, and a total of 100 prize packages will be awarded.

The idea behind this promotion is to take what would usually be marketing money and spend it on the players who play at the room instead of giving it to NBC or ESPN. That, is an idea that I'll applaud.

And making it as simple as giving the best prizes to the players that spend the most time at the tables is as refreshing as it gets. There's no bad beat that will take you out of the running for a prize package. There's no rush of cards you can find that will push you up the leaderboard. Instead, the regulars at the room climb steadily towards the top.

Simply beautiful.

Am I giving away my bias for the cash game players? Well, the is one tournament thrown into the mix. As a reward for time spent at the tables, anyone who gathers 50,000 comp points during the promo gets a seat in a Sun Poker Freeroll where the top prize is a $50,000 seat at the H.O.R.S.E. event in Vegas.

That's the most expensive event in the most prestigious tournament in the World. Not a bad prize for a freeroll.

This is not at all the same kind of promo as say the MoneyMaker Millions. It's aimed squarely at the folks that grind away at the cash tables. But, if you're one of those players, this is a great chance to get something that's a lot more valuable than 40% rakeback for the time you're investing in your game.
