I just received an email from Bugsy's Club that they are closing their doors. Bugsy's was one of the early poker rooms, but getting into the market early did not translate into gaining a lot of players. Bugsy's remained a small poker room that was overshadowed by the likes of PokerStars, Party Poker and Full Tilt.
In the end, Bugsy's seems to have gone out like a champion. They have reached an agreement with PokerStars to allow players to move their balances from Bugsy's over to PokerStars. I imagine that many of the players who remained at Bugsy's did so because of the intimate setting. So, it would not surprise me if many of them would prefer a direct cash out. Still, during a time when depositing at an online card room can bring headaches for United States players, it is nice to know that the room is setting up an option that will allow players to continue playing without having to jump through the hurdle of depositing.
Poker Stars is, of course, a highly reputable online poker room.
Bugsy's Club has also paid out the full monthly league payouts, making good on their obligations as games come to a close on the network.
Issues with banking facilities were cited as the reason behind the closure.
While a process to aid in transferring the monies in a player's account have been put in place, there will be no such system for transferring Bugsy's Bonus Points (BBPs).
