Poker Stove Software Review

One of the more powerful hand calculators out there is PokerStove. This free tool lets you enter the value of your hand, and a range of hands that your opponent may have. You can then find out the equities of that given situation, letting you know if you are ahead or behind your opponents holdings.

Because you seldom know the exact hand that your opponent has, a tool that lets you input a range of hands is a very useful program. PokerStove, however, is probably not a tool you can use while at the tables. It is better used after a session, when analyzing your hands.

Also, the program does not have "drag and drop" functionality. So, selecting the cards is not as easy as clicking on a picture and dragging it into a place on the screen. Instead, there are two different input screens that you can use to select cards to enter into the calculator.

I've done a simple walkthrough, and added it to the Unknown Poker Youtube Channel. In just a minute or two you'll see exactly how to input hands into this calculator, and you'll be ready to put this tool to work solving poker problems for you.

Besides being able to input given cards for the players involved in the hand, you can input any board cards as well. And, you can input any "dead" cards, an example of which would be a card that was accidentally exposed during the deal.

The program is available from Poker Stove.com.
