It was only a matter of time before this idea got a bit of steam behind it. Podcasting is the audi cousin of blogging, and people have been blogging about poker since the very beginning. Today, I'm taking a bit of a tour around the web, looking for poker podcasts, and here is what I've found.
First, for those who aren't up on the latest things, here is an overview of exactly what is meant by podcasting from wikipedia. If you'd rather skip that, think of a podcast as a radio show on the net that you can download and listen to. It really is that simple.
It isn't surprised that the big boys, like Full Tilt have entered the poker podcasting arena. In fact, Full Tilt has about a dozen podcasts on their website at the moment. They are short interviews with the likes of Howard Lederer, Perry Friedman, and Chris "Jesus" Ferguson. You can check them out on the Full Tilt Podcasts page.
If you don't care about downloading and saving the show, but would rather point and click and start some audio, check out Phil Gordon's streaming audio at his streaming audio blog page. This guy always seems to be right on top of new technology using it to spread the word in the poker world.
Podcasting from London! That how the guys at Poker Diagram describe their show. And, they're up to show number 41, so they've shown some dedication to the project. And while I'm an the UK kick, the Card Club on Lord Admiral radio does their own weekly poker podcast as well.
Podcasting is a pretty big idea, and poker players are never afraid to take things into their own hands to make something happen. So, I expect podcasts will be popping up all over the place as time goes by. In order to search out the "Wayne's World" side of poker podcasts, and also keep current with anyone else that may throw their hat into the ring, you can check at some of the larger podcast directories to see what's out there.
Just search for poker at Podcast.net, or brose the poker directory at podcast directory.com.
