It seems the poker world has no shortage of sensational poker tournaments to play. There are Million Dollar events taking place every weekend at several of the online rooms, there is the World Poker Tour, the European Poker Tour, the World Series of Poker, the . . . you name it. And now, there's another feature event taking place.

The Johnny Chan TCI Invitiational will be held this fall. It is an 8-day event that starts on the 9th of September. And, and this is part of the draw of it all, it takes place on a beautiful island in the Caribbean. If this was a tournament taking place in a casino in Jersey it might not be that noteworthy. But it's not, it's poker wrapped up in a wonderful island experience.

The site of the tournament, the Palms One - Turks and Caicos is magnificant. The tournament itself will be a $5,500 buy-in event. The sponsors seem to be seeking an 800 player field.

The field will be a mix of professionals, including Johnny Chan himself, and non-pros. Online qualifying is taking place at Goal Poker. They have a set of 50 Seats to this tournament reserved, and will be running qualifiers throughout July and August to fill these seats with representatives from the poker room.

Other players will include DevilFish Ulliot, and according to the tournament's website, Phil Hellmuth, and Phil Ivey.
